Navigating Liminal Space
Description
Reflecting on notions of space, as artists operating within the Pasifika diaspora in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) Aotearoa (New Zealand), queer indigenous arts collective FAFSWAG speak to their experiences navigating the physical and liminal spaces generated by their interdisciplinary work.
Navigating Liminal Space: Through Cultural Activation and Digital Art is a short moving image artwork by NZ Arts Laureates FAFSWAG, which combines archival documentation of live performances with commentary from artists' reflections on the power of collective practice, community building, and cultural exploration.

FAFSWAG was established in 2013 as an informal queer art collective from South Auckland. Responding to the lack of representation within the creative industries, the collective has come to redefine what it means to occupy a fluid sexuality and gender spectrum, a multi-cultural identity, and a growing interdisciplinary practice.
